EVERY STUDENT HAS A STORY

The importance of being a socially and emotionally responsive educator

WELCOME

This site was created to house resources and information for educators about the importance of mindfulness, self-regulation and the diverse needs of students.

This Project came together as we discussed our diverse backgrounds in education and shared our own stories. Knowing our student’s stories and their background allows us to rehumanize education. When we know our students, we can help them grow, set goals and equip them with strategies to be present, mindful and ready to learn. Ensuring that students are practicing self-regulation and exploring different strategies to self-regulate throughout the day increases their capacity to learn, recall and retain information.

“In today’s rush, we all think too much — seek too much — want too much — and forget about the joy of just being.”

Eckhart Tolle
